  • Managing Director

Throughout my career, I have collected a diverse portfolio to showcase sectors and industries in which I wanted to explore with my photo/video passion.

When I started professionally shooting back in 2017, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, other than make cinematic short and feature films. Fast foward six years later, x100 weddings, and many other shoots, I can confidently say that it has been an enjoyable, enriching and enlightening ride. A freelance videographer and photographer career is diverse, containing many flavours of media. I hope you enjoy these images and videos as much as I do.

So how do you make money online with a “side-hustle” that you geniunely enjoy?

This was the question that drove me to shoot over 100 wedding videos, and complete many more live-event based photo/video contracts within six years of opening my LLC company. Through trials, set-backs and a few handfuls of good luck, I have built something (a freelance business) capable of generating enough work to do what I love: work for myself!

My new mission is to help new videographers/photographers to establish their own freelance businesses. If any of my content helps just one person along the way, that’s work worth doing!

  • Shooting Style

I use two Sony alpa series cameras (a7iii & the a7sii) to capture all of my weddings. I also own a selection of Sony lenses to capture the day from various focal lengths. For Sound, I use x4 tiny Sony tx650 recorders to capture all of those speeches and vowels. Sometimes I’ll use a sound mixer and plugin to your DJ’s booth to steal their clean feeds during speeches, if that is possible on the day, as a back-up. The drone that I fly is called the DJI Mavic Mini. It’s also tiny, and weighs only 249g! This is how I can fly professionally and legally with my A2 Open Category qualification. During the day, I’ll use a DJI Ronin S-C stabaliser. This ensures that all of my footage is cinematic, steady and ready. I’ll pop up two tripods for both the ceremony and speeches.

In regards to shooting style, your photographer will be the person who does most of the posing shots. As a videographer, I usually aim to blend into the background and go unnoticed! Which can be a massive positive, because as there’s so much going on during a wedding day that you won’t get to see, I’ll be there to make sure that you do through the video.

I and the photographer will team up at key moments during the day, working hand in hand. There’s loads of information during the wedding day, so it’s especially important to have a rock solid photographer/videographer team on hand! I love being a team player, so whenever I meet a photographer, we always connect, as we want what’s best for you, the couple. This is why we work so well together. Our mutual goal is to make you feel at ease and love every second of your day!

Much of my shooting style is inspired by the films that I have seen. I take inspiration from films such as Pan’s Labyrinth and 1917. Films that compose shots into one, where the camera work is flawless, and where the viewer (you) are guided through the cinematic journey with minimal cuts. This is the power that the Ronin SC gives me. I feel like I’m wielding a super sword, it makes the day so effortless and fun! Take a look at this video, which was ALL ONE SHOT! And its a long one! I shot this in the summer of 2021, just a week before the Football Euro’s final.

Podcast Ep: Burnout in a creative world: are we letting our ambition define who we are? (The Wonky Adult Handbook by Emily Rose Thornton)

I love football (Arsenal) and filmmaking. Football was my first love, but don’t tell filmmaking, as I’ve dedicated my entire professional life to creating a vast portfolio of work, and football might get jealous.

I graduated from Falmouth University in Cornwall in 2016, with a B.A (Hons) Film Degree. I opened my LLC company 4 years and 10 months ago in 2017. I have learnt a lot along the way, including how to shoot with brands for promotional videos and big companies for live events. I have also worked as a production assistant on a range of film/tv productions. My credits include working for YAZOO, Unilever and WALDO, through the prestigious platform 90seconds.com.

With my team at Inferno Switch Films, I organise and shoot cinematic short films based on a myriad of subject matters. If you are interested, you can check out our film slate here.

I have picked up two screenwriting awards, including best feature film and best short film at different film festivals.
